Chaffinch At My Window

New Apartment, new birds. My old apartment was the building next to me but this one faces Manchester and also has five trees in front of it, so the bird feeder has been busy.

This is the male Chaffinch, rare to see so close up, the female also visits who is light green / olive in colour. They must live close by and breeding season is upon them so I may even be lucky enough to see there offspring in the next month or so.

Apart for these two gems, I have the usual Blue and Coal Tits visiting around every 15 mins in the day times.

Below is a lucky shot of the male Chaffinch fluttering his wings at my window….

Next up I will try and get a photograph of them both together, this may be tricky as I have only seen them 2 times come together, dependent on whether they have had chicks yet as they both feed the chicks but one generally stays in the nest to keep them warm.
